In the department of ophthalmology of a medical college hospital ,a call was received from surgery department for organ retrieval of a young(32years old) brain dead patient .
After cornea were retrieved , pediatric patients suffering from corneal opacities were brought for transplantation.
We present the successful outcome of a penetrating keratoplasty case in a bilateral blind girl child having OD central leucomatous opacity with OS anterior staphyloma .
Conclusion There is need for social awareness about organ donation as it can benefit the most needy and give a chance for visual rehabilitation in a pediatric child .Strict asepsis and meticulous post operative management can yield satisfying results.
