Purpose: To report a rare case of hemangioendothelioma of conjunctiva in a young patient.
Method: 26yr old female patient presented to the opd of tertiary care centre with the complaints of swelling in lower lid since 6yrs.
Results: A well circumscribed mass firm in consistency and smooth surface was noted in right lower palpebral conjunctiva. Excision biopsy was done and sent for histopathological examination. Histopathological features were suggestive of malignant hemangioendothelioma and confirmed by immunohistochemistry which was positive for FLI-1 and CD34.
Conclusion: The immunomorphological features are consistent with hemangioendothelioma of palpebral conjuctiva. Hemangioendothelioma is an uncommon vascular lesion that usually occurs in the liver,bone, lung, skin and other organs with unknown etiology usually affecting young children. Herein, an unusual form of hemangioendothelioma affecting lower palpebral conjunctiva reported in a young adult female
