Retrospective study of 15 children with IDS, aged between 2 and 9 were studied .Children having constant squint were excluded. All children underwent vision, squint assessment along with cyclorefraction. Overminus glasses (-1 to -2 D) were prescribed and children were followed up every 2-3 months to assess the control of squint. We defined our outcome as successful if there was improvement in the office control. 8 children had IDS with poor control, 5 with fair control and 2 with good control for distance. 11 children (73%) showed improvement in office control while 4 children (27%) showed no improvement with overminus glasses. Earliest improvement with glasses was seen within 5 months. In our study glasses worked better for children with good to fair control. Overminus glasses is an effective non surgical method to improve the control of IDS along with maintaining binocularity.
