AIM-To compare the outcome of topical Mitomycin-c & Cyclosporine drops post operatively in the prevention of recurrence of pterygium. METHODS-Between July to December2016, 36 cases of pterygium were randomly selected and taken for the study.18 patients were given 0.1% of Mitomycin c for 2 weeks and rest were given.02% cyclosporine 1 drop twice a day for 2 months. The patients were assessed for recurrence, and complications. RESULTS-The patients were followed up at monthly interval for six month 2 cases of Mitomycin-c group and 5 cases in Cyclosporine group had recurrence. No serious complications except 2 case of MMC group showed epithelial defect which persisted for 2 weeks and 1 case of CYS group showed Trichomegaly. CONCLUSION-Topical application of Mitomycin c showed more efficacy in prevention of recurrence but associated with delayed wound healing while cyclosporine was less efficacious in preventing recurrence without any significant side effect.
