Mean age and male incidence in this age group was 15.3years and 84.6%. IOFB seen were Metal(8 ), stone(2), glass(1), and cracker piece(1). ‘Severe’- Ocular Trauma Severity score, observed in 69.5%. Commonest mode of injury was being bystander around welding/carpentry (41.6%), others play related. Median Visual acuity at presentation was hand movements. 8 eyes had traumatic cataract and vitreous haemorrhage; 3 eyes each endophthalmitis; retinal detachment associated with large IOFB. Mean of duration to IOFB removal post injury was 5.75 days. Best Post-Operative Visual acuity attained was 6\60, with median of finger counting at 0.5m,by day 7. Children who present with IOFB are innocent bystanders. Parent awareness regarding preventable causes, eye protection in unavoidable hazardous situations, is of concern.
