A 16 years old Indian male presented with complaints of diplopia in primary and upgaze with pain and swelling in infraorbital and temporal region of right side of the face after injury with wooden stick to right side of the face 7 months back. Radiological investigation revealed a foreign body (7cm x 5mm) extending from right inferior rectus muscle through inferior orbital fissure posteriorly into pterygopalatine fossa reaching upto lateral pterygoid muscle. Surgical exploration and removal of foreign body was done by a team comprising of ophthalmologist, otorhinopharyngologist and oral and maxillofacial surgeon.It resulted in complete resolution of diplopia and other symptoms. Thorough clinical and radiological examination and early intervention of such cases with multidisciplinary approach aid in complete recovery and prevention of late complications.
