AIM –To explore any relationship between diurnal variation(DV) in Sub-foveal CT(SFCT) with IOP,SystolicBP(SBP),Mean Arterial Pr(MAP),Mean ocular perfusion pressure(MOPP) in OHT & POAG pts.
METHOD-Prospective study in RIO (Sept 2016 to Apr 2017).15 OHT,18 POAG & 20 controls(age,axial length & refraction matched) examined for SFCT by EDI-SDOCT. IOP,SBP & diastolic BP(DBP) measured 3hourly from 9am-5pm. MAP & MOPP calculated
RESULTS-Significant diurnal variation found in SFCT (P< 0.001). The total mean SFCT was thinnest at 9am & thickest in the evening 5pm. The DV in mean SFCT was negatively correlated with the mean SBP in 22eyes (73.33%)of OHT & 28 eyes(77.78%) of POAG& positively correlated with IOP in 20eyes of OHT & 30eyes of POAG.No significant correlations found between DV in the mean SFCT and the mean DBP, MAP& MOPP in 24 eyes of OHT & 27 eyes of POAG. CONCLUSION-Significant diurnal change found in SFCT.SFCT fluctuations found to be negatively related to SBP & positively to IOP
