PURPOSE:- To compare the visual outcomes of FLACS Arcuate Incisions (Gr-1), Verion Assisted Arcuate Incisions (Gr-2) & Toric IOLs (Gr-3) for management of coexisting cataract and corneal astigmatism, ranging from 0.75 D to 1.50 D
METHOD:- Comparative case series of 144 eyes which underwent astigmatic correction following cataract surgery. The main outcomes were 7 days and 90 days post-op UCVA, Spherical Equivalent (SE) and Contrast Sensitivity (CS) expressed as Modular Transfer Function.
RESULTS:- At 7 days Post Op, ANOVA analysis for UCVA, SE and CS at 5CPD and 10 CPD showed no difference among the three groups.
However at 90th day Gr-3 showed significantly better UCVA (p=0.019), SE (p=0.022) and CS results than Gr-1 & Gr-2 at 5cpd (p=0.007) and 10 cpd (p=0.00)
CONCLUSION:- All the three surgical modalities achieved comparable results at 7 days post op but astigmatism correction was less effective in due course of time in the FLACS group and Manual group as compared to the Toric IOLs
