INTRODUCTION: Endophthalmitis is an inflammation of the interior structures of the eye predominantly due to infection. The purpose of the study is to clinical profile in endophthalmitis following SICS.
METHODS: Patients diagnosed with Endophthalmitis were reviewed. Anterior segment was examined using Slit Lamp. Posterior segmented examined by Indirect Ophthalmoscope/USG. Patients managed in accordance with the EVS Study. The data was retrieved & analysed by SPSS-22.
RESULT: Out of 134 eyes , 84 M & 50 F. Mean age 42.98+/-2.3 years. Mean follow up duration was 34 days. 58 cases(43.3%) occurred following SICS. 43(75.4%) developed hypopyon. 29(50.8%) had tract of infection from Main Wound & 28(49.2%) from side port. 3(5.2 %) eyes had corneal abscess, 16(28.07%) had edema & 2(3.5%) had infiltrates in the cornea. 40(68.4%) eyes had vision <1/60, 9(15.7%)-1/60-3/60; 7(12.2%)- 6/60-6/36; 1(1.7%)- 6/24-6/18. Conclusion: The clinical profile in cases of endophthalmitis following SICS is varied.
