Aim: To compare corneal curvature and astigmatism in Lenstar and IOL Master.
Methods: Subjects with best corrected visual acuity of 0.1 logMAR were enrolled in the study. In all subjects, measurement of corneal curvature (K1 and K2) and astigmatism were obtained using Lenstar (LS), and IOL Master (IOLM). Intraclass correlation (ICC) was done to assess the agreement between three equipments.
Results: 160 eyes of 80 patients with mean ± SD 26.13 ± 7.53 years were analyzed. ICC (95% CI) between LS and IOLM for K1, K2 and astigmatism was .9630 (.9494 – .9729), .9466 (.9271 – .9609) and .9163 (.8857 – .9387) respectively. Similarly, ICC (95% CI) for K1 axis, K2 axis and astigmatism axis was .5300 (.3583 – .6558), .5611 (.4008 – .6788) and .5611 (.4008 – .6786) respectively.
Conclusion: Lenstar and IOL showed good agreement in measuring magnitude of K1, K2 and astigmatism whereas poor agreement in axis of K1, K2 and astigmatism.
