Purpose: To describe clinical spectrum and treatment outcome of glaucoma in microspherophakia. Methods: Forty four eyes of 22 patients diagnosed with microspherophakia were retrospectively analysed for clinical features, presence of glaucoma and treatment outcomes. Results: Glaucoma was diagnosed in 24 (54.54%) eyes. Mean age of subjects was 22±8 years with 14 males and 8 females. Six patients had Weil marchesani syndrome, 3 had Marfan syndrome, 1 keratoconus. Mean refractive error was -13.5±5.5, mean IOP was 27.7±4.5 mmHg. On gonioscopy, 48% had angle closure and 52% open angles. Six eyes (25%) responded to medical treatment and laser iridotomy each. Twelve eyes (50%) needed surgical intervention (7 trabeculectomy, 5 lens extraction). Conclusion: More than half of eyes in this study presented with glaucoma, open angle glaucoma was the predominant form. Fifty percent eyes needed surgical intervention.
