This is a preliminary prospective longitudinal study of of allo-HSCT patients for ocular surface evaluation and tears cytokines on three consecutive follow up visits.Clinical parameters and biochemical analysis of tears samples for the cytokines [IL-10, IL-12, IL-2, IL-4, IL-6, IL-17, IFN-gamma, (TNF)-alpha, VEGF],MMP 2, 9, 7, 13, 10 and IL-8 was done using Bio-PlexPro Human Cytokine Group 1-11 Plex Assay and Milliplex MAP Human MMP Magnetic Bead Panel.24 patients of allo-HSCT were recruited.Ocular GVHD was seen in 8 patients.Significantly elevated levels of IL-6, IL-10, IL-17,IL-2, IFN-γ, TNF-alpha, VEGF and MMP 9, of IL- 17, IFN-gamma, IL-4,IL-6,IL -8, IL-12, VEGF, TNF alpha and MMP 9 and of IFN-gamma, IL-10, IL-4, IL-6, IL-12, TNF-alpha, VEGF, MMP 2 and MMP 9 were found on first ,second and third visit.IFN-gamma, IL-2, IL-4, IL-6, IL-8, IL-10, IL-17A, TNF-alpha, VEGF-A, MMP-7, MMP 9 showed good correlation with clinical parameters.
