Purpose: A case series of patients who presented to the OPD with defective vision were evaluated and incidental finding of papilledema was diagnosed with significant MRI findings. Method: 8 cases presented to our OPD with gradual painless defective vision in both eyes for durations ranging from 2 days to 2 weeks, not associated with headache, nausea and vomiting. Their visual acuity was ranging from 6/6 to 6/36. Fundus examination revealed -blurred disc margin ,hyperemic disc with tortuous blood vessels and Paton’s lines. Conclusion: Papilledema is swelling of the optic disc that is believed to be secondary to increased intracranial pressure almost always bilateral, and without visual deficit. Any patient coming to the ophthalmology and general medicine OPD with defective vision and headache should undergo a thorough dilated fundus examination.
