Purpose: To compare predictability of deviation-correction (DC) measured under general-anesthesia (GA) intraoperatively with actual correction achieved on the first postoperative day (POD 1). Methods: Ocular-deviation of 23 children with horizontal-comitant-strabismus was measured prior to surgery, intraoperatively under GA before and after surgery, and on POD 1. Mean expected correction (MEC) was calculated as the difference between Preopdeviation and DC. Mean actual correction (MAC) was calculated as the difference between Preopdeviation and POD 1. Results: The difference between MEC and MAC was 26 Prism Diopters. Conclusion: DC measured under GA does not help to predict actual correction achieved on POD 1.
