Aim:To compare visual outcomes of Topo guided with Wavefront optimized LASIK in contralateral eyes. Methods:Retrospective comparative interventional study conducted between Jan 2016 to April 2017. Consecutive patients treated for myopia & myopic astigmatism with Topoguided(Group A) in one eye & Wavefront optimized treatment(Group B) in the fellow eye using Wavelight EX500 station were included. Pre & postoperative manifest refraction, Pentacam tomography & aberrometry was recorded. Results:200 eyes of 100 patients were included in the study. Mean preoperative spherical equivalent was -3.48D Group A & -3.46D in Group B. Postoperative UCVA of 6/6 was achieved in 98% in Group A & 92% in Group B. Gain of >1 line of BCVA was seen in 42 eyes in Group A & 30 eyes in Group B. The improvement in HOAs was significantly better in Group A(p=0.021). Conclusion:Excellent outcomes were achieved in both groups with a greater degree of gain in BCVA and improvement in HOAs in the topo guided group.
