Aim: To find normative values of retinal nerve fibre layer thickness (RNFL) in the pediatric age group and to study its variation with gender, quadrant, laterality and age. Method: 640 subject in the age group 6-17 years was examined using OCT. Results:The average RNFL thickness was 106.2 ±8.7µm in M and110 ±14.2 µm in F in LE and 102.3±10.8 in M and 110.2±11.4µm in RE.The values of inferior quadrant was highest followed by superior, nasal and temporal in all age groups.Values were significantly different between males and females, between LE and RE and RNFL values were not showing any correlation with age. Conclusion : pediatric normative values are not available in OCT.This study will help in building normative database and will help in early diagnosis and follow up of patients with glaucoma in pediatric age group.
