White dots in the retina with vision loss present a wide range of diagnoses and differentiating each entity is important in view of underlying systemic illness and sight threatening sequelae accompanying certain conditions. We present a case of a young girl with unilateral profound vision loss( CF 2 mts) following a brief period of fever. The anterior segment was quiet. There was no vitritis. Fundus showed multiple whitish yellow lesions in the posterior pole. Diagnosis of APMPPE(Acute posterior multifocal placoid pigment epitheliopathy) was made on the basis of characteristic clinical picture and FFA . The other eye was quiet on both clinical examination and FFA. The lesions resolved completely over 4 weeks and vision improved to 20/20.There has been no recurrence.
