OBJECTIVE: Determine area of normal healthy subjects’ Foveal Avascular Zone(FAZ) by Optical Coherence Tomography Angiography(OCT-A) and look for inter eye variability. It was a cross sectional, observational study. 242 eyes of 123 subjects were evaluated in this study. Healthy subjects between 16 to 55 years of age were included. Subjects with history of ocular diseases, ocular surgery, or poor quality images on OCTA were excluded. FAZ evaluation was done on OCT Angiography. RESULTS: The mean superficial FAZ area was 0.35±0.11 mm2. A negative linear correlation was found between central macular thickness and FAZ area (R= -0.6881). Similarly FAZ area and vascular density revealed negative correlation (-0.8621). FAZ area and perimeter had a positive correlation (R= 0.9075). CONCLUSION: OCT Angiography is a novel non invasive 3D investigative modality for evaluating FAZ. Inter eye variability and time dependent changes are a very strong indicator of disease occurrence and progression
