Art of refraction is a key of clinical practice of ophthalmology .However advent of automated refractometry has resulted in less inclination towards classical practice of refraction despite the fact that accurate assessment of refraction is one of the most crucial factor in paediatric ophthalmology as well as in Keratorefractive procedure including premium IOL, refractive laser and ICL ,post corneal transplant and last but not the least is refractive management of corneal ectasia . Proposed IC will highlight various intermediate and applied aspects of manual refraction, its significance, pros and cons in comparison to automated refractometry as well as correlation and significance of accommodation and convergence status with professional requirement of refractive corrections.
