Endophthalmitis is vision threatening complication of intra ocular surgery.Once it happens it is difficult to restore normal vision .Prevention is better than cure fit for this dreaded disease.Emphasis will be given on
recent protocols /guidelines on prevention , diagnosis & medical management of endophthalmitis . By following these guidelines we can prevent dreaded complication & if it occurs can minimize damage. Guidelines on preoperative , postoperative preparation of patient ,sterilization techniques ,operation room layout & current NABH regulations are important tools for successful outcome.Non inflammatory conditions [TASS] makes diagnosis difficult , video will be presented to differentiate both. late onset endophthalmitis & challenging situations will be discussed. Even after taking all precautions if disease occurs should start medical treatment at earliest as time is very important in saving sight. Intravitreal injection technique ,drugs & doses will be demonstrated by video.
