The International Society of Bilateral Cataract Surgeons, the ISBCS was formed in Toronto in 2010 by Famous cataract surgeons Dr. Steve Arshinoff, Canada and Dr. Charles Claoue from England .They had been
doing bilateral cataract surgery as we were for a number of years but since the procedure of immediate sequential cataract surgery had not got the support of “officialdom” mainly the international societies and the
insurance companies, the idea of forming this society with bilateral, high volume cataract surgeons who used cutting edge devices, coupled with strict aseptic protocols was born. The society aims to promote the idea of operating both eyes together and forms protocols for the same which
are published in journals like JCRS for the benefit of all ophthalmologists
