We report a rare case of unilateral chorioretinal coloboma in a 35 yr old male patient with a dimunition of vision and muscae volitantes.Colobomas can arise anywhere along the line of fusion of the embryonic fissure, which extends posteriorely from the optic disc to the inferior pupillary frill of iris anteriorly.Inadequate closure of the superior end causes optic disc coloboma while more widespread failure to close causes chorioretinal coloboma. His visual acuity was found to be 6/6 in right eye & 6/36 in left eye.Humphry Perimetry with 10-2 programme revealed a scotoma and OCT showed absence of all layers of retina at the macula.Fundoscopy revealed chorioretinalcoloboma.
