Aim: To Study the Visual Outcome and Complications after Iris Claw Intra-ocular Lens Implantation to correct aphakia.
Material and methods:
This was a prospective interventional case series carried out in 50 eyes of patients with ages ranging from 30 to 80 years who where undergo iris-claw IOL implantation at Ophthalmology OPD were studied. After meeting the eligibility criteria, their pre- and postoperative
visual outcomes and complication rates were recorded. All patients underwent complete ophthalmic examination including uncorrected visual acuity, best-corrected visual acuity ( BCVA), and manifest refraction both preoperatively and at 1 day, 1 week, 1 month, 2 months, after surgery. Any intraoperative or postoperative complications were recorded.
Result: Postoperatively, best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA) improved significantly (P < 0.02), 80% of patients had good vision of (6/18-6/9).
