INTRODUCTION:Lamellar ichthyosis is an inherited skin disorder known ocular manifestations are corneal opacities & lid ectropion.CASE REPORT:1 month female presented with 4days history of redness,discharge & swelling in the right eye.She is the 2nd born of a nonconsanguineous marriage diagnosed at birth with congenital lamellar ichthyosis.On examination multiple scales present on body.Right eye restricted EOM,upper lid ectropion,lower lid retraction,subconjunctival mass on temporal bulbar conjunctiva draining pus.Cornea hazy, rest details appeared normal.Bscan USG-illdefined soft tissue necrotic mass on the right temporal aspect of the globe.Conjunctival swab-MRSA.After 5 doses of intravenous ceftriaxone, amikacin & topical moxifloxacin the abscess resolved.CONCLUSION:Unilateral upper lid ectropion, subconjunctival abscess with orbital cellulitis has not been described in a case of lamellar ichthyosis. Careful ocular examination & timely management help achieve a good visual outcome.
