Strabismus, particularly in children, is a daunting problem for most general ophthalmologists. Proper evaluation and management is of paramount importance in aligning the eyes and restoring binocularity. Although this appears complex but with appropriate orientation and application of basic rules, proper management protocol can be evolved for each condition.
In this course, squint case workup along with visual acuity assessment and amblyopia management is discussed in detail. Problems faced in the examination of squint are highlighted and addressed. Presentations include clinical photographs, case-based approach and surgical videos. Audience participation is encouraged after each presentation. Case scenarios will be presented and the audience will be encouraged to independently diagnose and evolve management strategies.
At the end of the course, participants would be able to know how to approach a case of squint confidently and evolve working guidelines for their management.
