Dr.Niranjan Pehere
Cerebral Visual Impairment in children is one of the most common causes of visual impairment in children in our population. However our training programs do not equip our eye care professionals to deal with such children. The concepts of assessment and intervention in these children are different from the usual diseases we treat. So we felt that its time to conduct an instruction course on this topic at our national meeting. We will cover a spectrum of cases from severe visual impairment to mild, with practical details of how to assess and intervene. We will also emphasise on how to incorporate this in our busy clinics. Role of a interdisciplinary approach will be duly highlighted. At the end of the course, the learners will have an overview of what they can do, how to build their team, when to refer the child and where.
