This instruction course is aimed at making the attendee familiar with the latest concepts in refractive surgery. Starting from the basics of Lasik, the faculty will discuss the advantages of blade free and flap free lasik (SMILE) using surgical videos. For patients unfit for lasik, the role of phakic IOLs will be highlighted. Further cross linking and its uses combined with lasik will also be discussed. Treatment of presbyopia will also be highlighted. Finally management of refractive complications will be shown so that the attendee can understand how best to avoid them and how best to handle them when they occur. In the end, a discussion on how cataract surgery is becoming refined like refractive surgery with use of femto-lasers will be discussed. At the end of the course the attendee will be able to understand the latest trends in refractive surgery and how the recent advancements can be used for the benefit of our patients.
