We present the development of an innovative cost effective device to improve post operative astigmatic results after keratoplasty. The device is based on the keratometer principle. We discuss the principles of optical engineering involved and the trials and tribulations we faced in its design. We describe the technique of its application and the success stories of the cases in which it was applied.
