AIM: To report outcome ologen in management of paediatric glaucoma in Axenfeld Reiger syndrome.
METHODS: We present a video of trabeculectomy with ologen in 11 year old female child diagnosed with Axenfeld Reiger syndrome.Preoperatively, intraocular pressure (IOP) was 30mm Hg in both eyes. Ologen was used in right eye and MMC in left eye. Results were compared.
RESULTS: Postoperatively, IOP by non contact tonometry in right eye was 17mmHg where as in left eye it was too low. At 3 months, IOP was 10 and 8 mmHg in RE and LE respectively. Bleb height with ologen was moderate and localized whereas with MMC it was flat and diffuse. ASOCT showed more thickened bleb wall (230µm) and more cystic spaces (143µm) with ologen use where as with MMC bleb wall thickness was 95 µm.
CONCLUSION: Ologen leads to formation of healthy bleb. Thus, it could play beneficial role as an adjunct in trabeculectomy in childhood glaucomas.
