Aim: Visual rehabilitation of Aphakia
Surgical procedure method: This minimally invasive surgery wherein a transconjunctival linear incision is given followed by scleral groove formation with microvitreoretinal (MVR) blade.The anterior chamber maintainer is introduced inferonasally trough 20G limbal incision. The anterior vitrectomy is done from a limbal incision at 10’o clock and 2’o clock with 20 G incision. The Intraocular lens is injected through 3.2mm biplanar incision and docking the leading haptics of multipiece Intraocular lens with 26 gauge needle is done simultaneously at 3’o clock. The trailing haptic is introduced with end-grasping forceps and docked in 26 gauge needle at 9’o clock. Both the haptics are placed in the scleral groove. The anterior chamber is formed with air and corneal stroma is hydrated at wound site for closure. The conjunctiva is apposed with bipolar cautery.Post-operatively patient is comfortable with formed anterior chamber and no wound leakage.
