AIM:To evaluate the descemet’s membrane changes after conventional phacoemulsification and femtosecond laser assisted cataract surgery using FD OCT. METHOD: the descemets membrane detachments(DMD), folds, tear, wound architecture, central corneal thickness of eyes with femtosecond surgery and phacoemulsification were compared. RESULTS: There was a significant increase in DMD in conventional group on postoperative(p=.013) day 1.Central corneal(p=.000) and wound site thickness(p=.009) was more for femto group on day 1. Visual acuity, coaptation loss(p=.714),endothelial(p=.169) and epithelial misalignment(p=.073) and endothelial count(p=.684) did not show any significant difference between the two study groups at day 1 and 2 weeks. CONCLUSION: There was no difference in wound architecture at 2 weeks.
