PURPOSE: A case report of Latent Pulmonary Tuberculosis(PTB) presenting as Ocular TB with panuveitis.
METHOD: 40 year old male presents with episodic blurring of vision and redness of right eye since 6 months. Vision was RE 1/60, LE-6/60. Right eye had fine keratic Precipitates, posterior synechiae and immature cataract. Left eye had immature cataract. Fundi revealed choroid tubercles with choroiditis in both eyes. Mantoux was strongly positive while HRCT Thorax showed thickening of posterior aspect of right lung oblique fissure and adjacent pleural thickening. He was started on ATT, topical antibiotics, steroids, cycloplegics and oral steroids after 2 weeks.
RESULTS: After 3 months of ATT, oral steroids were tapered off and vision was RE 3/60 and LE 6/24 with both eyes quiet.
CONCLUSION: Latent Pulmonary Tuberculosis presenting as panuveitis stresses on adequate workup to ensure timely administration of ATT.
