OBJECTIVE-To study the various ocular manifestation of tuberculosis.
METHOD-A Prospective study conducted from January2016-January 2018. Patients having diagnosed case of ocular tuberculosis or systemic tuberculosis with ocular complaints were recruited. History, clinical & ophthalmological examination-Visual acuity, Diffuse light, Slit lamp & Fundus & Investigations-Hematological, Biochemical, Chest X-Ray, B-Scan, Mantoux test, Sputum AFB, TB-Gold, CB-NAAT & HIV test done.
RESULT-67 patients were recruited with male:female ratio-2.5:1(47:20). Ocular manifestation of TB in our patients include-Anterior staphyloma, granuloma, ptosis, scleritis, conjuntivitis, corneal ulcer, cataract, Uveitis(anterior, posterior & pan-uveitis), retinal detachment, optic atrophy. Significant number of patients were mantoux test positive. AFB and Chest X-ray changes found in few patients. CONCLUSION- Uveitis is the most common ocular manifestation of tuberculosis in our study.
