Aim: Retrospective analysis of incidence and risk factors for secondary glaucoma after PK
Materials and Methods :
120 PK that were performed between 2011and 2014, with a follow-up of 12 months were retrospectively analyzed .The medical records were reviewed.Clinical examination findings such as BCVA; SL ; AT and in cases where the recording of IOP was not possible by AT, Digital Tonometry findings were noted. Gonioscopy, Fundus & disc findings were also observed.
Results: Of 120 eyes, secondary glaucoma developed in 32 cases. This yields an incidence of 26.7%. Maximum increase was seen at 3 months (P = 0.001) .Incidence was more 43.8%for infectious keratitis . Graft size of 8 mm and above there was increased incidence of secondary glaucoma(36%) .
Conclusion:We conclude in our study that incidence of glaucoma after PK differ significantly based on the indication for PK (from a low of 0% for keratoconus to a high of 43.8% after Infectious keratitis)
