Surgical procedures for glaucoma involving the creation of external access entail the risk of fibroblast proliferation and filtration closure. High frequency deep sclerotomy (HFDS) is a transcameral approach which bypasses the resistance of the trabecular meshwork by channeling aqueous humour directly to Schlemm’s canal. The HFDS function is available with Oertli® surgery systems. Abeeglaucoma Tip and the bipolar radiofrequency diathermy handpiece is required.

Methods: Study Design – Prospective cohort study. Site –Tertiary eye care (Laxmi Eye Institute, Panvel), Sample size – 92 eyes 71 patients were includedStudy duration: Patients were evaluated at post-operative 3 months and 6 months
Inclusion criteria: All open angle glaucoma patients undergoing HFDS
Exclusion criteria: Patient who were not available for follow up
Results:
Total : 92 eyes of 71 patients. Mean ± SD age : 62.95 ± 10.6. Male : 38 (54%), Females : 33 (46%)

Number of Anti glaucoma medications

Conclusion. Our study showed that there was significant reduction in IOP post-operatively. Number of AGM decreased drastically post-operatively. Visual field indices and RNFL thickness showed a non significant change as the post operative follow up were less
