PURPOSE:A case series of successful treatment of complications following hypotonic CXL.DESIGN:Retrospective case series of patients treated for complications after undergoing hypotonic CXL.METHODS:Patients who underwent hypotonic CXL with subsequent complications.Patients with stromal haze were excluded.RESULTS:Out of 50 patients,1 developed idiopathic endothelitis,2 developed corneal edema,1 developed peripheral corneal infiltrate.Complications were seen in early postoperative period,resolved completely within 2 weeks of medical treatment with no effect on visual activity.CONCLUSIONS:CXL is a safe and effective procedure for arresting progression of keratoconus.There have been many reports of complications of CXL progressing to severe melt and further need of penetrating keratoplasty and finally led to deterioration of visual acuity .This case series reports the successful medical management of complications of hypotonic CXL,complete resolution and no effect on visual acuity.
