Purpose: Comparing trabeculectomy with selective laser trabeculoplasty (SLT) in a patient of deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty (DALK)
Method: A single Case report, 24 years old female presented in a tertiary eye care hospital. Detailed history was elicited, slit lamp biomicroscopic examination and intraocular pressure measured with applanation tonometry with corneal thickness adjustment done. She had keratoconus and underwent DALK in both eyes. Postoperatively she was initially started on stepwise anti glaucoma medications and quickly tapering of steroids for high intraocular pressure. As IOP was not controlled with above measures, trabeculectomy was done in left eye and SLT in right eye with left eye managed first. Examinations of both eyes were continued as mentioned above. Later left eye also underwent cataract surgery.
Conclusion: SLT was as effective as trabeculectomy in managing high IOP in our DALK patient with benefit of avoiding complications of later.
