Purpose:To assess the visual outcomes in subluxated cataractous lens with SFIOL or CT ring with PCIOL
Method:All the eyes that presented with subluxated crystalline lens due to various causes like trauma,Marfans syndrome,Pxf, high myopia and idiopathic. The main outcomes were measured with best corrected visual acuity.
Results:In our study SFIOL was implanted in 23 patients out of 37,the indication was zonular dehiscence of more than 180.Out of which 12 Cases were post blunt injury traumatic cataract,Pxf in 7 Cases,HMC in 2 Cases and 1 was idiopathic.Capsular tension ring was used in 10 Cases with zonular dehiscence less than 180.The conditions were traumatic cataract, pseudoexfoliation,HM cataract and Marfan’s syndrome. At 6 weeks follow up 36 patients had best corrected vision more or equal to 6/18
Conclusion:All 3 techniques achieved excellent visual outcome during the follow up period of 6 weeks. All 36 patients were comparable in terms of best corrected visual outcome.
