Design: Retrospective, descriptive
Introduction: The role of choroidal vasculature in causation of central serous choroidopathy (CSC) is increasingly being recognized. OCT angiography allows study of choriocapillaris in a non-invasive manner. Published data on OCTA in CSC is sparse.
Materials and Methods: Consecutive cases of CSC presenting to our eye centre underwent detailed review of patient records and OCTA imaging. OCTA characteristics of choroid under NSD and surrounding area were tabulated along with duration and type of CSC.
Result: Hyperreflective choriocapillaris precedes the appearance of NSD in CSC. Reduction in hyperreflectivity of previously involved choroid signifies improvement in CSC and resolution of NSD.
Conclusion: Choriocapillaris changes precede the development of NSD in CSC and hence prove the primary role of choroid in etiology of CSC.
