Abstract
a 12 year old female diagnosed with keratoconus had dense stromal infiltrate with streak hypopyon in central cornea of right eye,postoperatively after day 3 who underwent uneventful C3R. microbiological studies showed Staphylococcus aureus keratitis.with intense treatment with fortified antibiotics patient recovered,another female 15 year old, developed deep stromal infiltrate on postoperative day 7 in left eye, but fulminent infection, which did not respond to topical and oral antibiotics, to rescue the eye patient underwent therapeutic penetrating keratoplasty.
Conclusion:C3R even though being a minimal invasive procedure have a risk of developing bacterial keratitis may be due to removal of epithelium or BCL insertion after the procedure
