Both the eye and kidney are related since the time of organogenesis. Inner retinal and renal glomerular filtration barrier share developmental pathways. Hence advanced kidney disease causing renal insufficiency induces co morbid ocular signs. For e.g. cataract, macular edema, elevated IOP, retinal detachment to name a few. If timely attended to, further irreversible vision loss may be prevented through initiation or intensification of therapy. There have been efforts in the past to predict the stage of renal disease with the help of the ocular signs in such patients. We are presenting few patients on haemodialysis, referred to eye OPD with complaints of recent onset of progressive, painless diminution of vision. Clinical signs, investigations, diagnosis, etiopathogenesis are discussed in this case series. Besides providing visual rehabilitation for the patient, the crucial role of an ophthalmologist with the physician for the survival of the patient is under scored thereof.
