Methods: We retrospectively studied secondary intraocular lens (IOL) implantation in 904 aphakic eyes from 2003 to 2015.We studied the clinical features & characteristics of the patients, epidemiological data obtained from the database of the hospital EMR. Other details were recorded & analysed using SPSS 22. Result: Of all 904 cases of Aphakia, the mean age was 60.95(±9.52), minimum 19 & maximum age 82 years. 682(75.5%) from 50 to 70 years age group had gone for surgery. SICS (70.2%) & Phacoemulsification (22.5%) were primary surgeries leading to aphakia. OD (55%) & OS (45%). Preop BCVA <6/24 in 95%, postoperatively 49 % >6/18. 81.9% went for sulcus implantation & 8.2% for SF-IOL. Cortical clean-up (40%) was major step leading to rent. Conclusion: In this study SICS with cortical clean up step was the main cause for the aphakia going for secondary implantation.
