Purpose:Comparison ofpediatric optic disc anomalies
Methods:Comparison of optic disc coloboma,pit,hypoplasia,drusen,pseudopapilloedema.
CaseA13 year visual acuity right eye 6/60.Right eye showed optic disc coloboma.
CaseB3 month male syndromic baby right eye optic disc pit.
CaseC13 years male visual acuity bilaterally 6/12.Fundus-optic nerve hypoplasia.Had Growth hormone deficiency.
CaseD13 year girl visualacuity6/9.Fundus showed disc drusen.
CaseE12year male with cataract,highhyperopia,decreased axial length,visualacuity 6/60,FC3 metres right and left eye.Fundus showed pseudopapilloedema .Low set ears,short stature suggested Kenny Caffey syndrome.
Results:Optic disc anomalies were not only associated with visual impairment but with neurological,systemic features.
Conclusions:Optic disc anomalies may be associated with congenital disorders of the eye,central nervous malformations. Hence diagnosis and differentiation important to predict outcomes and life threatening associations
