The study was carried out to evaluate the different etiology of corneal opacity, the clinical outcome in relation to graft survival, rejection and peri-operative complications in different etiology groups ,and the final visual outcome recorded. Candidates were selected from the Eye Bank and OPD of a tertiary care centre with study period from 1st September 2014 to 31st August 2016 which included 60 cases. 34.6±19.73 yrs. (mean±SD) was the mean age of recipients in the study. 26 (43.33%) and 34 (56.66%) were male and female recipients respectively. The different indications are :- Post ulcer corneal opacity 28 (46.66%), post-traumatic corneal opacity 18 (30%), PBK 8 (13.33%), Dystrophy 4 (6.66%) and NHCU 2 (3.33%). 32 cases (53.33%) and 22 (36.66%) cases showed clear and partially clear graft respectively while 6 cases (10.00%) became opaque due to graft failure. The major indications are post ulcer and post-traumatic cause with female dominance. Graft survival rate is high.
