Purpose: To evaluate the efficacy of toric intraocular lens (IOL) after phacoemulsification in eyes with pre-operative astigmatism >1.5D. Methods: 30 eyes with preoperative astigmatism between 1.5 and 4.5 D were implanted with toric IOLs following uneventful phacoemulsification. Results: A statistically significant difference (p=0.001) was observed between BCVA and postoperative UCVA at 12 weeks postoperatively. Mean (SD) score of pre-op astigmatism of study was -2.202 and residual astigmatism was 0.325 (0.441). Conclusion: The difference between means of pre-op astigmatism and residual astigmatism in study group was significant p=0.001 with 95% CI -2.223 to -1.5030.This significant difference was because of toric IOL implantation.
