Herpes Zoster Ophthalmicus caused by reactivation of varicella zoster virus exhibits as a varied spectrum of presentation.We present a rare Case series of Herpes Zoster Ophthalmicus asssociated with Ophthalmoplegia.Of the total 6 Cases with HZO :3 presented with IIIrd nerve palsy and rest 3 had VIth nerve palsy. Ophthalmoplegia occurs as a Results of either nerve or muscle involvement.The Cases with initiation of treatment preferably within 72 hours, have better prognosis.Simultaneous demonstration of myositis, oculomotor nerve palsy, keratitis can also occur which is rare as seen in one of our Case.Timely referral, investigations and imaging are important to rule our other causes of cranial nerve palsies. Speedy diagnosis and appropriate management are key to early recovery. This rare series highlights the importance of timely referral of HZO to an ophthalmologist to reduce the period of ocular morbidity and to avoid ocular complications which can lead to permanent blindness.
