Purpose-To study the role of systemic Acetazolamide in acute central serous chorioretinopathy. Material and methods-prospective comparative study conducted in 62 consecutive patients with acute CSCR . study group (n=32) received oral acetazolamide(250mg) tds for 4 wks and control group (n=30) placebo. Pre and post treatment BCVA , OCT and fundus evaluated. Follow up period-monthly for 6 months. Result: study group had improved vision, faster subsiding of macular edema as compared to control. Conclusion: oral treatment with acetazolamide hastens recovery in acute CSCR .
