Endophthalmitis, although rare, is one of the most vision threatening complication of cataract surgery. The majority of these infections are bacterial. The occurrence of fungal endophthalmitis after cataract surgery is rare. C. Albicans is the causative agent in the majority of cases of culture-proven fungal endophthalmitis. We report a case of chronic postoperative endophthalmitis following cataract surgery caused by a fungal pathogen Candida pelliculosa and since the fungal balls were observed in the bag management required IOL and bag explantation with sensitive intravitreal antifungal agents and systemic antifungals.In chronic non resolving post operative endophthalmitis fungal etiology should be kept in mind and has to be managed meticulously. To to the best of our knowledge , this is the first report of Candida Pelliculosa endophthalmitis from India and second in the world to the best of our knowledge.
