Aim-To assess visual outcome and fundoscopic changes following Posterior subtenon injection(PST) of Triamcinolone Acetonide(TA).
Materials and methods-10 patients presenting with Post-fever Neuroretinitis who showed poor response or had contraindications to systemic steroids were treated with PST of TA(40 mg). Follow- up period was 6 months.
Results-All patients had BCVA less than 6/60 and multifocal retinitis with macular edema on presentation. Following PST, 8 patients improved to 6/12 with complete resolution of fundus changes while 2 patients improved to 6/24. None had significant increase in IOP.
Conclusion- PST with TA can be considered in patients with post febrile neuroretinitis having poor response or contraindiactions to steroids.
