Objective:Analysis of risk factors for glaucoma following SFIOL implantation.
Method :Retrospective comparative Case series of 120 patients(70 Cases and 50 controls) who underwent SFIOL implantation and followed up at short term, mid term and long term visits
Results: Mean age(Cases) 53 +-19 years.Mean age(Controls) 49 +- 21 years.Among Cases 81% were males.Mean preoperative IOP (Cases) 13.94 mm Hg. Mean post operative IOP at 2 months (Cases) 27.44 mm Hg.On Univariate analysis, blunt injury, peripheral anterior synechiae (PAS), angle recession, Marfans syndrome and male gender were statistically significant risk factors (p<0.05). Conclusion :SFIOL implantation is associated with an increased risk of secondary glaucoma in patients with past history of injury or angle damage requiring detailed preoperative evaluation and post operative monitoring.
